                5th         VLR_Matt                 12.418304

                6th         GRT_Murray              13.01

It was a good Heat 2 race. 1st through 5 all were changing for positions. WG lead the most laps with Tyner all over him. Then tyner got passed by ph1sh. Jigger and Matt were also battling up there too.It was a good all around race. Murray didnt have his super fast setup for the track and fell quickly behind.

                                           B Main (40 laps)

pos.         Name                   Fast time      Laps completed

                1st       IGGR_Jigger                12.24                 40

                2nd      VLR_WG20                 12.38                 40

                6th       VLR_Razz                   DNF                    34/DNF

Well, what can I say, It was a very good race. Jigger started on the outside front row and got the lead on lap 2. Tyeler started on the pole of the B Main and lead lap 1. Murray had troubles again and fell behind to the leader and just couldnt make up the ground in time. Razz had a very good run, till he lost control of his car and ended up in the gardrail. He finished 6th. WG, raced for the lead on lap 2 but just couldnt hold on to Jigger and lost him. So he rode around in 2nd for the most part of the race until he got a wake up call with 15 to go from Tyeler and started to pick up the pace. Matt drove around mostly in 4th and was creeping up on Tyeler and Wg at the same time they were racing each other. But 3 laps into the race for 2nd, Matt got cought up in lap traffic and was losing ground on the others. But over all, no one could beat that fast IGGR_Jigger and Jigger took the B Main trophy, VLR_WG20 in 2nd, Tyeler in 3rd , VLR_Matt in 4th, GRT_Murray in 5th, and rounding out the race in 6th was VLR_Razz. It was a good race at 41st for the "Matt's Skins 40" and hope to see you all at the last race of the short season, "The VLR Challenge" at Spindale. This will be held on Wed. 8:30 PM est, 7:30 ct. it will decide the winner of the VLR Short Series Race for the Champoinship. Heat 2
It was a good Heat 2. 1st through 5 all were changing positions. VLR_wg20 lead the most laps with Tyner all over him throughout most of the 10 lap race. Then Tyner got passed by ph1sh, a racer who had to start last because he missed qualifying. Jigger and Matt were also battling in the thick of things as well. It was a good all around race. Murray didnt have his super fast setup for the track and fell quickly behind the rest of the guys with trouble.

A-Main

A-Main
The A-Main was a good race just like it always is in VLR. Only this time, there was a bit of drama in the opening laps, but we will go into more detail later in the report. In the A-Main, like he does almost every time he shows up, VLR_Nitro blistered the pole with an unheard of 12.21 lap time in the 5 lap attempt. This carried him on to starting on the pole in the prestigious Heat 1, the heat that will extract the inside rows for the race. A good crowd of 11 racer's showed up to take on the rough, tough, rewarding, yet agonizing 41st Street track. The five starters in heat 1 were, VLR_Nitro, Hinzman, VLR_rdrunner, Tyeler and VLR-Razz.

Nitro
started on the pole in the A-Main after he won heat 1. VLR_wg20 won the second heat and that allowed him to start on the outside pole. At the start, Hinzman quickly jumped up to second place after wg20 slipped and gave up 2nd and 3rd positions to Hinzman and IGGR_PH1SH. PH1SH and wg20's cars were both flying, and VLR_rdrunner was held up a little bit at the start, but then he came back and was able to catch up with the two driver's as they battled for position. Tyner_052 had slipped back early to last, and that is where he would stay for the first few laps. Then, the unthinkable happened around lap 3. Razz's server began to show a rare sign of warp for a half lap,(Something that the race had none of past that particular point) and that is when the trouble started. wg20 and PH1SH were both battling extremely hard with wg in fourth letting PH1SH know he was there on his bumper every turn as they battled for third. He was unable to complete the pass, but he didn't give up. And then, as the two headed out of turn one, PH1SH felt a bump from wg...the car's were already sideways looking from the lag, but now it got to close for comfort. PH1SH and wg20 made hard contact and they both spun after the contact was made. PH1SH managed to get straightened out without going a lap down, but unfortunately, wg20's day was ended. PH1SH sent his replay to VLR officials after the race and it proved that warp was the main factor in the incident as wg20 thought he was wrecked by PH1SH, while PH1SH's view showed a completely different scenario. As one may expect, in a highly competitive league like VLR, temper's can and will flare in an instant, and wg20 had a few choice words to exchange with PH1SH that he shouldn't have said without seeing PH1SH'S view first, because if he did, he may have had a totally different view on the situation that had unfolded amidst the battling.

Meanwhile, while the excitement was raging ahead of the them as VLR_Nitro, the pole sitter, and Hinzman had managed to check out a little on the rest of the field. One of the big surprises was that young Hinzman was able to hold his own with 3 time VLR race winner VLR_Nitro, who had finished 3rd in last weeks Sunday Springs race after starting at the rear of the pack. Without a doubt, anyone who can keep up with Nitro can say that they have accomplished something. VLR_rdrunner was able to move up to 3rd, approximately 1 second behind Nitro, and about a half second behind Hinzman, but he was charging toward the both of them. Tyner_052 had made it up to 4th in his first ever VLR A-Main, but he really wasn't close enough to the front 3 to get any major challenge going. By Lap 15, IGGR_PH1SH had dropped back quite a bit behind the pack after wg20 and he wrecked, but he was slowly catching up with 4th place Tyner_052. There were five racer's left in the race after VLR_wg20 had dropped out due to the damage sustained in the early accident.

On lap 15, Nitro had stretched his lead out to over a second, as he was turning very quick laps. He managed to get the race's fast lap award as well, with a "Nitro" fast lap of 12.16. While VLR_Nitro was pulling away from the pack, VLR_rdrunner was closing in quickly on hotshoe Hinzman. He managed to close the margin to a couple of car lengths behind Hinzman on lap 25. The two followed each other without losing their steam up until lap 35 or so. This was when rdrunner slipped up a little while trying to dive low in order to make a pass on Hinzman. This dropped him back some on him, and he didn't have enough time to make even the slightest mistake, because Hinzman was driving smooth laps, although not as fast as Nitro or rdrunner. The main battle for position on lap 38 or so was for fourth.
PH1SH was determined to catch, and hopefully pass Tyner. This battle proceeded up until the very last lap, but IGGR_PH1SH was forced to settle with a 5th place finish. As he has done so many times though, VLR_Nitro drove a very smooth race, as once again he brought home the checkered flag in the VLR Short-Series racing action. Hinzman crossed the line in second, with VLR_rdrunner still not giving up on passing him until the checkered flag waved. Cya guys in two weeks, as VLR takes on the slightly similar-to-41st track of Spindale. Check us out on Saturday, May 28, 2005 at 10:30 a.m. eastern standard time. Qualifying will be held Friday-Monday on the week of the race. Good luck all!

Heat 1-Well it was a slow start as fans and cars from a previous event were slow to leave the track. when finally all was cleared and things were about to get going yours truly dicovered he had lost his keys to the track         and couldnt get in        (got an error and could not connect to his own server)  But VLR-N came to the resecue and we shuttled everyone over to his track. There we finally put some tread marks down on the dirt. it was a good race fast and furious. At the end it was Nitro crossing the line with to take the win and close behind was hinzman and  VLR Rdrunner not far behind was Tyeler. Thats the last thing i remember b4 for  it all went black after hitting the tires and flipping into the wall.              This is starting to get really expenive.       Thats like 10 new cars in 5 races.          Hey, anyone  know where i can get some partime work i need to earn a little extra cash.    Can ya help a bother out?          Maybe a sign will help--"will work for fuel injectors"
