VLR Race Report!
Heat 1 Heat 1 was a great race after the warp went away and they finally got it in smoothly. EVR_5rf got the great start at the beginning, with a little slicing and dicing for positions farther back. Nitro got a little loose at the start, but recovered quickly with the fast lap of the heat, 10.27. VLR_RD was also flying and he and 5rf had a good race for the win, but in the end 5rf won the heat by 0.30 seconds over rdrunner. Jigger crossed the line in third with kscueball grabbing fourth place. Nitro, for the first time ever, wouldn't transfer on to the A Main, after being in the very tough heat with some very fast driver's representing 3 of the top teams in dtr2. Steven_Hall took 6th place, followed by VLR_razz who ended with a DNF in seventh.
Heat 2 Heat 2 went by without a problem. There was lots of good action throughout it. VLR_Shock started on the pole, with JC_Rac03 on the outside. VLR_Matt was third, Rodney fourth, pg99 fifth, IGGR_Coal sixth, and Tyner_052 in seventh as they headed for the start. There must have been a little pushing and shuffling at the start, as well as VLR_Shock's "Dizzying" warping skills, and Rac03 quickly lost 2nd and 3rd position. pg99 didn't have a good setup, or any at all it looked like and he was unable to finish the race. The amazing driver's in heat 2 were IGGR_Coal and Tyner_052, as they both quickly moved up thru the field and into the transfer spots, 2nd and 3rd. In the end though, VLR_Shock warped, I mean walked away with a 3 second win. IGGR_Coal was second with Tyner close behind. JC_Rac03, VLR_Matt, and Rodney all had troubles and rounded out the top 6, with pg99 having a DNF and finishing 7th. Rodney grabbed the fastest lap in heat 2 with a 10.34 lap time.
B-Main The B Main saw kscueball, JC_Rac03, VLR_Matt, Steven_Hall, and Rodney making up the field. Once again, the not so passing friendly Huset's track let down it's reputation, and passing was about all the driver's did. As a matter of fact, no driver finished where they started in the main. kscueball kept the lead for a while, but JC_Rac03 was able to get around him in time. There was another "Shocker" in the B Main. Rodney, who came up oh so short of winning the B main in the last race of last season after hitting a parked car of VLR_razz (Not as stupid as it sounds in this game), sought revenge this time around even after he started last. He fought his way up to first place and then just smoked everyone else en route to a four second win over Rac03. If we gave out dominating performances, Rodney would be due for one today as he won the B Main at a track he admittedly says is not even near one of his favorites. kscueball was third, followed by VLR_Matt and Steven_Hall who finished 1 lap down.
A-Main After a couple of restarts, the A Main was all but boring. It featured one of the fastest lineup of driver's you will ever see. Rolling to the start on the inside of the front row was the Scott Bloomquist of online racing (He would probably prefer if I said Don O' Neal), EVR_5rf in his Monacan GT. On the outside was an overly nervous young hotshoe, VLR_Shock, who had won heat 2. Behind 5rf in third was another very fast VLR racer, who currently holds a few IGGR Fast Lap times of his own, VLR_rdrunner, flying high in his new car painted by Nitro. In fourth place it was IGGR_Coal, who was ready to open up a can of you know what on the other drivers (Shock made sure he didn't but we will get to that later). Bruce Jiggerlo, I mean IGGR_Jigger, was on the inside row in 5th place at the start. Rounding out the starters was Tyner_052, who was probably just as nervous as Shock, but I doubt it, as he competed in his second A Main at VLR, and that's no small feat, especially with top caliber driver's like there were this week. At the start, all was well as VLR_Shock went high, as he was in fear of EVR_5rf blowing him off the track. He had to let off to get back down into the groove. By this time, IGGR_Jigger and teammate IGGR_Coal had both caught VLR_Shock as they made it a 3 wide affair for second place. And if you were paying attention earlier, you would have seen that two wide racing is no small task if you want to stay fast. Shock tried to do what he thought was the smart thing and let off, but it was too late. They came out of turn two and it was all over for Coal. Jigger was as low as humanly possible and Shock was sandwiched in the middle, with Coal leaving the wall painters something to do as he scraped it coming out of the turn. Jigger made a little contact with Shock, and he was already out of his mind, since he was competing with such good racers, and then he went a little to high after making a valiant effort to save his new car, but it was all she wrote for Coal. He careened beautifully, I mean horribly off the wall and VLR_Shock purposely spun out to make him feel better (Yeah, right). IGGR_Coal quickly left the race before he got nailed by the leaders and Shock was okay so he continued, for a while. Meanwhile, 5rf continued to lead, with VLR_rdrunner in tow and IGGR_Jigger in third. Tyner was in fourth and Shock was in fifth, but he sooned realized that he couldn't cause enough warp to wreck the front four guys so he just gave up and left and went and watched the B Main. He came back after it was over though and he met up with IGGR_PH1SH and they talked until the race was over so Shock missed the finish, but everyone was congratulating EVR_5rf, so I assume that's who won, lol? VLR_RD crossed the line in second, followed by IGGR_Jigger, and Tyner_052. Like we said, VLR_Shock ended IGGR_Coal's chance at opening up that can of you know what on the rest of the guys and they finished 5th and 6th respectively. Well, that's it for me, and cya all next week at 41st Street, for some more great racing! Good luck everyone.
