VLR Race Report!

Heat 1
Heat 1 was a very good race, featuring some very good drivers in it. Rodney started first in the heat after qualifying on the pole for the race earlier in the week. Behind him it was VLR_RD, IGGR_Jigger, Tyner052, and late entry, EFT. The race was very smooth and uneventful, as the only position change was for second, as IGGR_Jigger managed to get around VLR_RD for the spot. Rodney had a great car and went on to win the heat and start on the pole for the race. Jigger came in behind in second, with RD, Tyner, and EFT all trailing behind him.

Heat 2
Heat 2 was a great race with some great battles early on. Nitro, the favorite to win the heat, was unable to get off to as good of a start as he would have liked, and he soon felt a bump from mag, who started 3rd.  Mag was able to jump out to the lead in heat 2, and he dropped Nitro to second and VLR_Shock to 3rd, after Shock had started in second. But, the battling was not over yet. Mag and Nitro were still side by side as they went into turn 2. Shock saw a hole of opportunity and took a chance on making the pass. He dove low and the racer's were three wide battling for the lead, but Shock charged ahead. In the battling, mag couldn't hang on to the second position, and Nitro once again managed to get by him and close in on race leader, VLR_Shock. fergie and Steven_Hall had already settled in to 4th and 5th positions, respectively. As the 10 lap heat wound down, Nitro was quickly gaining on Shock, and he finally caught him with about 3 laps to go. Unfortunately, he was unable to clear the pass after he hit the rear end of Shock's car a little and he dropped back and scraped the wall. He still didn't lose much ground, and on the last lap, he was still trying to find room to pass VLR_Shock, but Nitro just ran out of time in the end and had to settle for second. Crossing the line in 3rd, and grabbing the final transfer spot was mag, with fergie a little over 1 second behind after the two made slight contact. Steven_Hall rounded out the heat 2 finishers. Nitro had the best lap, a 12.22 during the heat, as VLR_Shock was able to capture his second heat win in a row.

B-Main
The B Main saw Tyner_052 starting on the pole, with fergie in second. EFT started 3rd and Steven_Hall rounded out the field of racer's at the start. Tyner was able to stay in the lead for a while, but EFT soon managed to pass fergie for second position. The B Main racing was fairly uneventful, and that is exactly what most of the racer's like, as opposed to the fans. Soon, fergie had troubles and was unable to finish the race, and that only left 3 racer's to compete for the win. Tyner and EFT were doing some great battling, but EFT showed his consistency andwas eventually able to get around him for the lead. Tyner was certainly not about to give up, and the two stayed close to each other, but EFT was slowly beginning to pull away. The racer's settled in quickly, and it was EFT who managed to cross the line in first. Tyner finished second, about a second behind with Steven_Hall in third and fergie rounding out the pack after his troubles.

A-Main
The A Main was a super clean, and super consistent race. It featured some of the top online racer's today, as well as some of the most consistent. The starter's were, 1. Rodney 2. VLR_Shock 3. IGGR_Jigger 4. Nitro 5. VLR_RD 6. mag. The race was a thriller, even from the start. VLR_Shock had started in second after winning heat 2, but had a bad setup and lost ground on the start. He was quickly passed by Jigger, and then Nitro, as they took 2nd and 3rd positions from him while Rodney hung on to his lead. Nitro was quickly able to find his way around Jigger for second and begin battling with Rodney for the lead. On lap 2, Shock went a little to high in turn 2 and came out and found himself into the gate. He recovered quickly but it caused VLR_RD and mag to run into the back of him slowing all three's pace. This enabled Rodney, Nitro, and Jigger to pull away to over a half straightaway over the rest of the field. Rodney and Nitro was nose to tail for the next few laps but once again Shock had problems in the back and he and RD made a little contact and SHock went to high and hit the gate again, and dropped back to 6th. Once again, the top 3 racers were all nose-to-tail with no one making any mistakes. Rodney and Nitro were still able to form a bit of a draft and pull away from Jigger, as VLR_RD had pulled away from mag and VLR_Shock. Up front, nothing spectacular was happening, except for Rodney and Nitro showing an amazing display of consistency as their lap times were in the .10's and .20's the whole race. After all the driver's had managed to settle in, VLR_Shock began to show a bout of consitency as he was able to complete the pass for fifth over mag, who had taken it earlier after Shock's contact with the gate. VLR_RD had stretched out pretty far over the two, and it was  still about a 3 second separation from IGGR_Jigger. At the end of the race though, Rodney was able to cross the line ahead of Nitro by about 6 carlengths, after admitting he was pretty nervous, and that it reminded him of his real life racing somewhat. Nitro finished second, with IGGR_Jigger about 3 seconds behind in 3rd place and VLR_RD about another 3 seconds back in fourth. Another 3 seconds behind him was VLR_Shock, and one second behind him was mag, as he was in danger of going a lap down later in the race, which would surely would have made things more intense up front. In the end though, Rodney had the fastest car, as he turned a 12.15 in the 40 lapper. Nitro wasn't far off though, with another very fast lap of 12.17. Well, you can ask anyone, and they will tell you that today was a very good day to race, and everyone had a lot of fun, and we hope to see you all back next week as VLR takes on the tough track of Lorentz Speedway, available for download at www.teamiggr.com/tracks. Cya next week for even more exciting racing, brough to you by VLR in the KPR Racing 40. Don't Miss it!
