First race ever held in VLR:August 22, 2004... I finished last, Iam won, my phone rang otherwize i think i could have gotten him!!! Ah have times changed....
the Holloween Shootout.. Oct. 30, 2004 ... didnt make it to this race, was a good one so i heard... i believe its still in the forum right here still... and the time rolls on....
Old Logo: Used to be the big one.. most known for... i believe we still use it to this day, but has been modified and tweaked a bit... and nothing stays the same.... ah change(Van Halen, for those who dont know)
Shocks old skin: I dont think i ever seen him race it much tho...
StoneCold's old ride: only raced with us on the Husets Adventure...wish he would come back..Also my first request as a skin painter... Man did i suck...
VLR_RDL_Matt: My old Skin, Mopar freak i used to call it.. now these days it looks like a monster... just wanted to show you that the days were sorta "rough" for me and my painting...
Here is the site i got alot of these pics from... its the old site, back in june of 05' we shut it down and went to bigger and better sites... but i will always save this one in my mind...
Thanks a lot for sharing that and I'm glad we kinda kept it in the archives so to speak. I think I will put a link to this page on the home page for people to comment on. Personally, I think we should get back to those days, everything was much simpler and really was a lot of fun and not stressful. By the way, those were the days when I was a skin painter part time but I made that three wide huset's pic by taking a pic of the turn and then stretching it and then taking a pic of each individal car and pasting it on the track so it would look semi realistic so that turned out cool. And I remember the halloween shootout very good, think i finished 3rd or 4th against a good crop of racers. WV Dirt won just as I predicted too. Old logo was made in paint in about 5 seconds lol but still floating around somewhere im sure. And I loved that bloomer skin, just didn't have shocker across the bottom as big as I wantd lol, but I have thought about going back to it before. Nitro painted it. Thanks for sharing the history and I think I finally got the old site unlocked which I guess is whereyou got this from and it has all kinds of old pages and everything to check out. I'll try to get more people to read this and maybe add more.
Yea i always like the old days.. but these days are grand too Maybe we can go back once or twice, and maybe just hold a special like we used to... those races where very nice, very well organised(better be because we would be talking about it for like a month lol) But i think these days are good too, that was back when EVR raced LateModel Trucks... remember shock how big those trucks where??? oh man they were the best... now no one really races them anymore... really sad... and that was also when IGGR was just huge... you were a no body if you werent on IGGR... and if you got in there way, you'll have to pay... Now these days just anybody stands up against IGGR, Badmouthin' and stuff.... i just hope thats not how this game is gunna go down as..That was when General Lee was a big hit for skin painting, Danno had come and begun to get really big since he put up a requests page...(He's still trying to catch up lol), and of course VLR came onto the scene in July 30th, 2004...Next year will be the 3rd year aniversery.. hopefully this game will last that long... If we get to that point, im thinkin' about holding a special.. Husets 90, 3 years of Husets and VLR... have a triple mains, 30 laps each... if so im racing my old skin... talk to you all later.....

Something I wrote like the third day after VLR opened::
VLR Spyder21- Spyder21 is a 2 year dirt track racing veteran. He seems to prefer mods over lates as well. He is one of the fastest guys on the team, and we are expecting some good things to come out of him.
VLR_Dirt- When I met dirt he had raced just 6 races prior, and then he said he wanted to try out for the team, and he admittedly said he wasn't the fastest guy in DTR2, but after giving him setup tips and racing for over two hours at Huset's he was getting the hang of it, and was almost a second faster then when he began earlier that day.
VLR/XRL_Shock- Shock has been racing since Early June, but he is already battling it out with the big boys at age 15. He has amassed a huge winning record that he is proud of. His favorite track is Huset's and you will find that you have trouble trying to drag him anywhere else, But for good reason, he hangs around in the 10.30's and 40's there.
VLR/XR_Dead_Last- Dead Last normally is doing the opposite of what his name says when you see him in DTR2. He is one of the more talented DTR2 racers out there, and I am sure that if he was able to race scheduled races, that he would probably be in some team like IGGR right now. You can also check out his website at, freewebs.com/xtremedirt, that is the team XR website.
A.S.R./VLR_Stonedcold- Wow, Wow, Wow; What can I say, without this guy, we probably wouldn't be racing in VLR very long. "Dale" as I like to call him, is one heck of a guy. Thanks to him, VLR has a great server that we can use practically any time and still have fun, He's also a really good racer, he hasn't been racing long, but he is right with, and even faster than some of the more "experienced" drivers, we are glad to have him with VLR.
