The A-Main was a great one as the racer's from VLR and their friends headed out to the ACR v.2 raceway Saturday, April 30, 2005. IGGR_Jigger started on the pole in the A-Main, after coming from the rear of heat one to win, with VLR_wg20 starting right beside him in second. In third place was JC_Rac03, and next to him was VLR_Matt. VLR_rdrunner rounded out the front-runners as he started in 5th place. It was a good, clean start as IGGR_Jigger and VLR_wg20 rushed into turn one. Jigger came ahead but wg got a good run out of the turn to take the lead as the racer's rolled down the back stretch. VLR_Matt was caught sleeping in the first turn, and that allowed rdrunner to take fourth place from him on lap 1. On lap 5, havoc struck. Matt got tight coming off the corner on the front stretch and hit the wall. That sent him barreling toward the infield. This forced the officials to black flag him and end nearly all hope for a win in the prestigous VLR A-Main event. At the same time as VLR_Matt had his troubles, IGGR_Jigger hits the wall on the backstretch. His car was totaled beyond repair as it careened off the wall and began tumbling down the race track. He was later examined and determined to be okay, luckily, but his day was ended without him being able to pose a major threat. The wrecking didn't end just yet, as only one racer managed to survive the havoc in the early going, that being JC_Rac03. Soon after Jigger's accident, VLR_rdrunner dove into turn three a little hard and was unable to recover as he spun as well. Finally, the racer's got their eyes on the prize and began racing more conservatively from that point. VLR_wg20 was slowly pulling away from second place JC_Rac03, when suddenly he was added to the list of damaged racecars when he spun in turn 4. Luckily, he managed to quickly recover his racecar and resume racing, after only losing one spot, as JC_Rac03 took command. On lap 30, VLR_Matt once again fell in love with the wall again, after coming into the turn a little to hard. It looked like a replay of his last accident, as once again he slid down into the infield, losing another lap to the leaders. While VLR_Matt was having troubles, VLR_wg20 showed extreme consistency as he began to quickly close in on the leader, JC_Rac03. On lap 35, wg decided it was time to make a pass, or it may be too late if he waited any longer. He dipped to the inside of Rac03's Monacan GT and attempted to make the pass. Rac didn't let him go that easily, though. The two racer's battled side-by-side for one lap, but VLR_wg20 was not about to be stopped. VLR_wg20 commanded the next four laps, en route to his first ever win in a VLR race. JC_Rac03 easily drove home to a second place finish, while rdrunner was 3rd, a lap behind the leaders. VLR_Matt, who had struggled throughout the day, brought his car home to a fourth place finish, while IGGR_Jigger finished 5th after his early race accident which ultimately finished his day. Next week, the "Crew from DTR2" will tackle the exciting Sunday Springs Raceway, with only one person bringing home the top prize in the "BloomShock 40". Qualifying will take place Monday thru Wednesday, as the race will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday Morning. No doubt it will be exciting as they all take on the bullring in this special day-before Mother's Day Event. Congratulations to all this weeks racer's on making the race a huge success and we hope to see you next week at Sunday Springs for another great VLR race. Thank you all.

The B-main main was a good solid run. The pace was fast and no big crashes except for VLR-Razz who should of have  more Razz-a Roni in his gas tank. Razz jumped to and early lead        when in the 2nd turn he discovered his car was not geared at all right       and went flying in to the wall ending up in the end field     not  once not twice, no not three time but four times over the race.    In the end D1-3 finished for the checkered flag        with Tyner to follow     and DRT-RB4 close behind  who was amazingly runing good using the keyboard controls        and a battered and tired Razz in last who somehow pulled the races fastes lap a 11.96 with the default set.

Sup rdrunner...

Sorry about the way that we made the times and all. I know for you that it sucks having to get up an hour earlier than most of us. The times were going to be at 12:30 p.m. Eastern time, 11:30 a.m. Central time, but Razz had to work then so we moved it back a couple hours for him since he is the main race director and all. When more people figure out the format and are able to make it, then it really won't matter then. Still though, I think that we could do what you said maybe if Razz lets me know something as to whether he can make it an hour later. Definently thanks for asking though rdrunner, and we will definently look into it, and I think we can do that. Right now though we are on that 6-week stretch to determine how/what we will need to change for when the league comes and so all time changes and stuff will take place after this 6-week segment is over. The six week thing is mainly to decide what we will need to do to make VLR better after we get done so that the transition is smoother. Thanks again rdrunner...sorry about how it is now, but look for a few changes when the league starts and that may be one of them as well...We will need more input, and I may send out emails and post something in the forum about it soon. Thanks, Shock
