I would like to make a track request. I would like someone to make a track for The DD team. I would like it to be the Lebanon I-44 speedway. it is a 3/8 mile track. The front stretch is 8 degrees back stretch is 10 degrees turns are 18 degrees. It is a real popular track around Missouri. There are some good pictures of the track at this link http://monettspeedway.tripod.com/speedpics.htm i know it says monett speedway but the pictures on the link are from lebanon I-44 speedway. I would reall appretiate it if someone could make me this track.
Okay, one more question, do you know if that is tier parking over beside the backstraightaway, and is the billboards lining the back straight. Also, is the only wall the one in turn 4? Thanks. I am thinking about using Jamestown Speedway, the track that Matt made and we are going to work on it together, looks like a nice track.
...Hey, and if anything, I could always Make DD Speedway or something, lol. Husets and Bloomington look like their the best two tracks though but it will be tough....Thats why I love making fictional tracks.
Its kind of like parking it is called the wild side. That is where you can sit in your vehicle and watch the race. I call it one big O tail gate party lol. Yes the backsteatch is only bilboards but there is a little dip between the track and the bilboards. yeah the only wall touching the track is in turn 4.
Let me know if this would work. I do most of the de2 work, moving objects fixing thing to look like the track. Then you do the banking and billboards and stuff if you want and I send you the de2 file when I'm done. Your better with banking than I am with dtr2 tracks and so I'd say you could do a better job with that if you wanted. I've already got a great start on the main part of the track though, with the wall and the tier parking going good. I am almost done moving the billboards to the back straight too. Let me know if you can do the banking though. Don't make it nearly as high-banked as Jamestown though, but about halfway between Bloomington and Jamestowns banking if you would. Thanks and let me know.
Hey, does the grandstands look like Bloomingtons grandstands? I have already widened the track and added banking and it's starting to take form. Also, the gate is all that is on the front straight right? There isn't a wall right below it is there? We can't guarantee a 100% replica but I will get it as close as possible...It's going great so far though.
Okay thanks, I can't make any guarantees that I can get any plain white walls like that up under the gate on the front straight. The wall on turn three was actually part of the track that was converted into a wall, cause you know Bloom doesn't have any walls, lol. I'll see what I can do and try and move the little wall in front of the grandstands to the edge of the track and that might work. I got the gate goin down the front straight already and that's very surprising if you knew how to edit tracks because you have to edit a whole nother part of the track. I'm really excited with how it's going so far...it may be the best track ever made from Bloom, and even with 18 degrees banking in the turns it seems like there is a middle groove developing lol. It will no doubt be my most in depth track, matt is gonna do most of the graphic work like billboards and stuff, and whatever I can't do. The tier parking isn't perfect, but I'll keep working with it and maybe even get some cars on it some how...If you want to give me anymore details like the scenery outside of the track that is fine too though. Thanks
I almost forgot, is the red and white wall only in turn 4. It looks like there is an opening thru it in one of the pictures and in another it looks like there is a few billboards behind it but I don't see them in the close up pictures where the cars are on the track beside the wall. There isn't a wall or anything in turn 1 or 2 though is there? You can just fly over the track if you messed up, right?
And...was the 1-44 asphalt track made into the dirt track or something, cause I found some pics of the asphalt track and I saw it was talking about the wildside, so maybe I could use some of those pictures too. LEt me know
yes i-44 used to be an asphalt track. you can use any pictures you can find for that track. in turn 4 that opening is where the cars come onto the track and in turn 3 that is where the cars exit the track and by the bill boards on the back straight is the exit ramp off the track. in turn 1 and 2 there is a wall way out.but it doenst touch the track.the wall is like 50 feet from the track in turns 1 and 2.
Okay, I'll try to make this my last question(s), just trying to make the track even better:
1. Is the little wall going down the front straightaway plain white, or is it red and white like the one in turn 3.
2. Where it opens in turn four, is the next wall the front stretch wall.
3. Does the "WILDSIDE" Go all the way around the track starting at turn 3 and ending at turn 1?? If not tell me where it does.
4. Is the wall way outside in turn 2 kinda like the one at Bloom, if so, I'll leave it how it is probably.
5. Okay, in the old pics I saw a paved parking lot near the grandstands kinda, is it still like that? And also, is the grandstands on top of concrete too?
If you want, I will email you a picture of the progress so far, let me know, and if you see anything that needs to be changed let me know. Thanks and sorry for all the questions.
Were you saying there was a space between the billboards where the cars could exit on the backstraight or were you talking about the spot in turn three?
The track is now finished as of 5/30/06 and you can get it at freewebs.com/vlracing2. The delay was because we were debating what stuff we should add and what kind of stuff it was even possible for us to add to make it look even more like the real thing. Some things were unable to be done so we left them the same...As of this post though but not when I-44 was started, me and matt now have 3d editors which we can use to edit tracks, but I don't know for sure if he uses his...This means that possibly in the future there could be an I-44 v2. And my computer died the other day after a power outage so we had to get it fixed and now I've lost everything and am in the process of getting the de2 editor and my 3d program back. Will keep everyone updated with the progress of our upcoming tracks though.
